'avoid "pandoc document conversion failed with error 61" for `github_document`
I keep failing to knit a github_document
because of the error shown below. A solution to avoid this was provided in this question for html_document
. But that argument is not available for github_document
, and so I am wondering if there is another solution to avoid this error.
Error details:

The above reverts back to the old default before they moved over to CodeCogs
https://github.com/jgm/pandoc/pull/3142/files
I don't know what the issue with CodeCogs is, but it may have to do with not providing a Link Back.
Solution 2:[2]
The following works. But it didn't work earlier, perhaps there was an issue with the site.
---
title: "Untitled"
author: "Stéphane Laurent"

output:
github_document:
pandoc_args: --webtex=https://latex.codecogs.com/png.latex?

Solution 3:[3]
Using these options worked for me:
github_document:
math_method:
engine: webtex
url: http://chart.apis.google.com/chart?cht=tx&chl=
Solution 4:[4]
It looks like there are a few answers here that use different websites for webtex. None of them worked for me today., but I googled for other sites like 'codecogs' and found one that works, so if you need one more option:
---
title: "One more Codecogs API"
output:
github_document:
pandoc_args: --webtex=http://codecogs.tomagrade.com/png.latex?
